Winter has been anything but easy this year in Northeast Ohio!  The cold temperatures and abundance of snow have left most of us indoors for the past two months. However, there are a few perks to the cold weather! If you have never witnessed Lake Erie frozen it is quite a sight. Mounds of ice and snow build up at the shoreline and white is the only color visible as far as you can see!

There are two other perks of the cold weather-ice wine & maple syrup! And during the month of March, we celebrate these two products! The wineries of the Grand River Valley are hosting their 11th annual Ice Wine Festival the first three Saturdays in March.  Guests can enjoy a sample of ice wine served with a small appetizer at each location for $6 per person per winery.  In celebration of the Ice Wine Festival, Crosswinds Grille will be offering an ice wine martini all month featuring ice wine from the Grand River Valley!

If wine isn’t your thing, then check out Maple Madness, hosted by the Ohio Maple Producers Association, on March 8 & 15 from 10am-5pm.  Maple Madness is a drive it yourself tour of selected maple sugaring operations across Ohio.  In addition to tours, many facilities will be offering free samples, snacks, music and activities for the whole family.  In celebration of Maple Madness, Crosswinds Grille will be featuring food & drink specials made with Ohio maple products during the month of March, including a delicious maple ice cream!
